When You Have Hair Loss
All Natural Hair Treatment You Can Make Yourself
Lavender oil for hair growth is when you have hair loss or hair thinning due to genes, lifestyle, diet or disease. Nourishing lavender oil scalp treatments are good for all hair types.
When the hair is thinning, and you still have hair follicles in place, this is when you need to make this simple lavender hair treatment to give new life and vigor to your hair follicles. For the hair follicles to be healthy they need oxygen and good circulation around them.
Step 1 - Treat Yourself
Give yourself daily scalp massage either when you’re showering or at the end of day around bedtime as part of your daily regimen. The use of lavender essential oil along with other essential oils supports hair growth and stimulates circulation and the sebaceous glands.
Step 2 - Make The Recipe
Yields:
1 Ounce (30 ml or 2 tablespoons)
- 2 tablespoons Jojoba oil -- moisturizes, stimulates scalp
- 3 drops Clary sage -------- promotes hair growth
- 6 drops Lavender ---------- promotes hair growth, conditions
- 2 drops Lemon ------------- stimulates sebaceous gland
- 3 drops Rosemary --------- stimulates roots, increases circulation
To Make: In a dark glass bottle, add jojoba, Clary sage, lavender, lemon, and rosemary oils, Blend well.
Storage: Store in a cool dark place, capped tightly and use within 6 months.
To Use: Place 1 tablespoon in palm of your hand and rub your hands together warming the oils. Then gently massage into your scalp only, not your hair. Massage gently by moving the scalp skin, not rubbing as this won’t be as effective. Put on a plastic cap and wrap with a towel and leave on for 30 – 40 minutes. When your time’s up remove the towel and cap, shampoo and condition your hair.
This blend provided by Kymberly Keniston-Pond, CIR, CFR, CCMA book “Essential Oils 101” is a real good recipe for this problem and it works.
Rosemary essential oil is a powerful medicinal herb and should not be used if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, have high blood pressure or other health challenges.
The leaves stimulate circulation of the blood to the head, improving memory and concentration.
It also encourages hair growth. Something my hairdresser comments on every time I get a trim every 5 – 6 weeks. It grows about inch or more even during the winter months. So, if you need an herb to prevent hair loss this is a good herb to add to your culinary dishes as well using the leaves of the rosemary plant.
Lavender and Clary sage are safe except if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications or being treated for other health challenges see your health care provider or naturopath.
Blend the healing powers of lavender essential oil with Jojoba or Almond to create aromatherapy massage oil for throat infections, inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, depression, rheumatic aches and skin sores.
Clary Sage is known for its calming properties and benefits to the skin.
