Natural Ingredients For Lavender Soap

Lavender essential oil – a natural essential oil distilled from lavender buds and flowers capturing the essence of the natural oils from the plant.

Soaper's like myself will use several types of lavender essential oils like lavender 40/42 and Hungarian lavender essential oil.

  • Lavender EO 40/42 is made from a mixture of lavender essential oils creating a dependable scent year after year. This is the most common lavender essential oil used in the soaping craft because the scent is dependable, cost effective for purchasing lavender EO, and it’s a consistent blend of natural lavender essential oils.
  • Hungarian essential oil is less camphoraceous and more green in scent giving a smooth scent instead of a bold fragrance. It does cost more than lavender 40/42.
  • Lavender fragrance oil is not a natural ingredient because it’s made in a lab, but is a staple in making soap and smells true of lavender. You will see listed on the ingredients FO (fragrance oil) instead of EO (essential oil)
