Best Soaps For Summer

The best soaps for summer smell great for summer days at the beach, barbeques and family camping trips.

This month is our take on spring cleaning as we highlight our soaps!

Protecting your skin is a year-round job, and there's no better way to start than in your shower or bath with an all-natural, handmade soap.

While summer brings the warm sun to our skin, it can also bring bug bites, seasonal eczema, psoriasis outbreaks, heat rashes, and other uncomfortable challenges that can make you feel less than your confident self.

When I plan each season's soaps, I think about how the outdoors affect people's skin. For summer soaps, it's important to stay moisturized without overdoing it, protected from bugs, and not be too perfumed. These are the details I'll discuss more this week.

There's still time to order mom one of our gift sets or create your own small, medium, or large box of soaps just for her.

One of the main ingredients in our soaps is goat's milk because it's wonderful for moisturizing. In fact, using a soap with goat's milk should help you reduce or eliminate the need for extra moisturizing during the warm months.

Goat's milk also holds the scents in the soaps longer, so those wonderful aromas of peppermint, lavender, rosemary, or our florals stay on your skin longer.

Speaking of florals 🌺, are you thinking of giving mom flowers for Mother's Day? Why not give her rose, peony, and lavender-scented all-natural, handmade soaps instead? They'll last longer and offer way more benefits.

When planning the soaps, I always think of the outdoors first, especially when it comes to our bug soaps. Vermont critters are pretty formidable, so it takes some extra effort to keep them at bay.

I've found that lemon eucalyptus is wonderful, which is why it's one of the main ingredients in our bug soap. Add to that lavender and tea tree oils, and you've got a combination that smells fantastic, protects your skin, and helps repel bugs all day long.

Special note: we like to tell people to use this soap up around the hairline & ears to help keep bugs off these areas that are often missed with bug spray.

Have some campers or other outdoor enthusiasts in your life? Our bug soap is a must-have for the summer!

Imagine smelling like summer. Well, with our Herb Garden all-natural, handmade soap, you can (and also have the nice, smooth skin you want, too).

Made with shea butter, avocado oil, basil, lavender, rosemary, and lemon eucalyptus, you can moisturize, aromacize (we made that up), and protect your skin all at once. We love making this soap, because with the beautiful combination of scents, it's like we're creating summer right in our studio.

Want to put a little summer on your skin? Our next batch of Herb Garden soap will be ready June 4th.

Just because we're sheltering in place doesn't mean you can't have a date night. And the perfect soap to use? Our English Rose and Palmarosa!

The palmarosa oil offers a sweet floral scent but repels bugs, so you don't have to worry about getting bitten if you're enjoying the outdoors. The lavender and spearmint oils add additional notes that bring fresh, light aromas that complement the floral. The avocado oil and shea butter moisturize your skin.

Keep date night going with a little help from Vermont Lavender 😉
