It's the time of year when everyone in my household is gardening and mowing, so it's time for the big bug defense: the Lemon Eucalyptus Bug Stick!

There are two reasons I call this the "big bug defense." First, as a stick, it provides a thicker layer of protection for your skin. There's no water to evaporate, so this stuff stays on! Second, the combination of ingredients smells great to us but doesn't to bugs: lemon eucalyptus, geranium, peppermint, rosemary and a touch of citronella essential oils.

The essential oils permeate your skin and pores while the soybean and cocoa butter soothes and moisturizes. If you're going to be outside for long periods of time, or digging in the dirt like we are, this is the bug defense for you.

I developed our Big Bug Stick 3 years ago because of all the work I do outside during the summer.

As a Master Gardener and the person responsible for growing the bulk of our ingredients, it was becoming a daily battle between me and biting critters. "Enough!" I said, and set to work creating bug defense that worked great, lasted long, smelled wonderful, and kept those annoying bugs away. Once I knew it worked, I added to our product line so that others had an all-natural option to bug products with DEET. Our Lemon Eucalyptus Bug Stick has been a customer favorite ever since!

One of the reasons our Citrus Bug Stick works so well is the combination of shea and cocoa butters we use to create each one. Not only do these butters moisturize and nourish your skin, they create a long-lasting, protective layer that prevents bugs from biting.

The only area of your skin you shouldn't apply our Big Stick (or any of our bug defense sprays) is your face. Both lemon eucalyptus and peppermint oils will irritate the eyes, and if you apply any kind of lotion or remedy containing them to your face and sweat, odds are you're going to end up with some getting into your eyes.

You can use all of our bug defense products around your ears, neck, and scalp, and many times the aromas, which smell great to us but not to the bugs, do a good job of keeping them at bay.

Here's what one of our customers thinks of our Citrus Bug Stick:

"As effective as products with harsh Deet and chemicals. Highly recommended product, all aerosol cans have been discarded and replaced with this pleasant-smelling, natural product." - Chandra Pollard ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beat the DEET and the bugs this summer with a little help from Vermont Lavender.
